YOGA AND EMOTIONAL HUNGER
The Workshops
Do you find yourself eating too much, too often – out of boredom, frustration, stress, or as a reward?
Or is it more that stress often leaves you unable to eat even a single bite?
Do these cravings keep coming back, leaving you feeling frustrated and ashamed?
Do you want to understand what’s behind these eating patterns and learn practical ways to gently move beyond them?
Practical tips for your everyday life
In my workshop series Yoga & Emotional Hunger, you’ll receive practical tools to break free from the vicious cycle of uncontrolled eating, suppressed hunger cues and overwhelming emotions.
The workshops build on one another and are offered over two days, both in person and online.
Yoga & Emotional Hunger – Day 1
The Kosha model as the foundation of my work
In the first part of the workshop, we lay the foundation for a deeper understanding of emotional hunger. This allows you to approach the topic of eating with more ease in the next step.
We begin by exploring the basis of my work: the Kosha model. This model runs through every part of my offerings – whether in psychological coaching, my e-book, my yoga sequences, or my workshops.
Understanding the needs behind emotional eating
In the next step, I will guide you deeper into understanding what lies behind emotional eating. Our impulses to eat are often expressions of deeper needs that cannot be fulfilled through food alone. To access this, we first need to cultivate the ability to notice and feel into these needs.
We will also explore what it means to be able to meet our needs – and equally, what it means when some needs cannot be met. Throughout this process, we stay grounded, realistic, and close to lived reality.
Yoga as a doorway to our emotions and needs
In this process of becoming more intuitive, the yoga practice supports us. It helps us reconnect with our body and gently approach emotions that may have been suppressed. These emotions are often what truly shape our eating behavior. When we lack access to them, we may confuse the need to “feel” with the need for food.
After the workshop, you will have a deeper understanding of how your emotional hunger reflects your underlying needs – and that these needs can be acknowledged and met without turning to food or denying yourself nourishment.
Practical sessions
I guide you and the other participants through two yoga sessions designed to help you move out of your head and back into your body and intuition: one dynamic Yang practice and one nourishing, regenerative Yin practice.
What makes the more dynamic sequence special is that it reflects the pressure of emotional eating. On the mat, you will encounter the same kind of frustration you may recognize from your eating behavior and learn how to meet it without turning to food or denying yourself nourishment.
As a, psychologist, yoga teacher, and someone who has personally experienced disordered eating, these workshops are very close to my heart
Yoga & Emotional Hunger – Day 2
A respectful and heartfelt exchange with like-minded people
The second day of the workshop focuses on interaction and integration. This is where we deepen what we’ve learned so far and move into shared exchange.
Knowing that you are not alone with emotional hunger can be deeply relieving. This sense of shared experience can help you feel more ‘normal’ and, in the next moment, find the courage to face the topic with greater openness.
Intuitive Eating with the support of yoga
In the next step, I will introduce you to the concept of “Intuitive Eating.” You may already be familiar with the principle: our body actually knows quite well when and what it needs to eat. To access this wisdom, however, we first need to learn how to listen to it more closely.
For people with eating difficulties, this is often only possible to a certain extent. That is why we approach the aspects of Intuitive Eating gradually – only as far as feels individually possible for you.
Stress as one of the key drivers of emotional hunger
Over the many years I’ve been teaching workshops on “Yoga & Emotional Hunger”, I’ve noticed a common pattern among participants: many of them are deeply stressed.
This stress is often met through eating or through restricting food or forgetting to eat altogether. What is frequently missing, however, is something else entirely: deep rest and relaxation. These are what would actually help regulate their energy levels, restore balance, and allow them to recharge – needs they have often tried to meet through their eating behavior.
High sensitivity and self-acceptance
I also address another common thread among many participants: many of them are highly sensitive individuals – often without being aware of it.
Emotional eating has frequently become a strategy to compensate, at least temporarily, for inner emptiness or unresolved inner imbalance.
Practical sessions
A Yin and Yang yoga practice rounds off the weekend, giving both body and mind the space to integrate and let everything settle. As on day one, what makes this sequence special is that it is specifically designed to reflect the pressure of emotional eating. In this way, you learn how to meet challenging emotions without turning to emotional eating.

FAQs about the Workshops
Are the workshops suitable for everyone?
My workshops are open to anyone who would like to learn more about the concept of emotional hunger – either because they recognize themselves somewhere along the spectrum, or because they are interested in the topic through their own work.
The workshops take place in a group setting, and shared exchange is an important component. That said, everything is voluntary. You are free to decide whether you would like to actively participate or simply listen quietly. Both are equally welcome.
I work therapeutically. Are the workshops also suitable as further training?
My workshops have often been attended as a form of professional development. Participants have included, for example, physicians and psychologists, as well as yoga teachers, bodyworkers, and coaches.
They all shared an interest in gaining a deeper understanding of emotional hunger and integrating this perspective into their work. You are very welcome to attend the workshop as part of your professional development.
I’ve never practiced yoga before. Can I still take part in the workshops?
Absolutely. You don’t need any prior experience to participate in the workshops.
What can I expect from the yoga sequences in the online workshop?
As part of the online workshop, we will work with selected yoga sequences from my Yoga Kit. These will be unlocked for you for the duration of the workshop, so you can practice without any live pressure and at your own pace.
If you wish to continue working with them after the workshop, you can purchase the Yoga-Kit separately. This way, the same sequences remain available to you long term as your personal space for practice.
How do the in-person and online workshops differ?
The content of both workshops is identical. In both formats, the number of participants is limited, allowing participants to truly get to know one another and engage in meaningful interaction.
Do I need any technical requirements to participate in the online workshops?
The online workshops take place via Zoom. All you need to participate is the Zoom app, a device with internet access, and a quiet space for yourself and your yoga mat.

The Workshops
create connection
Because this is where I can connect directly – with a group of people who are at a similar point to where I once was myself. And show them that there are ways to break free from the vicious cycle of eating and difficult emotions.
From my own experience, I know very well the suffering that can come with disordered eating – the constant mental loops, the shame, the loss of control, and the frustration that follows. Over the past years, I have facilitated numerous workshops on emotional hunger and worked closely with many individuals in the context of psychological coaching.
In this process, I’ve come to see how profoundly relieving it is not to be alone with your struggles. The workshops offer space for exchange and create a sense of being ‘okay’ in a world where many of us often feel that we don’t quite belong.
At the same time, I offer you practical tools and guidance to better understand your emotional hunger and begin to step out of these eating patterns.
I’m looking forward to meeting you.
